The River Is Waiting!

Here at Wilderness Cove there are many exciting activities for you.

Trout Fishing: Green River is stocked regularly with trout - choose wild trout or hatchery.  Drop a line right off our property or we'll show you other great places to fish.  You'll need a North Carolina Fishing License and be sure to check the wildlife book for specifics.

Kayaking and Canoeing: Bring your kayak and put in at the campground, or let us shuttle you for a small fee.  We can also get you in touch with a company that provides guided tours on the river.

Hunting: We adjoin the Polk County Game Lands - about 18,000 beautiful acres.  Choose your favorite hunting season and walk right onto the game lands.  We'll be happy to help plan your visit.

Hiking/Geocaching: There are more than 16 miles of scenic hiking trails you can access directly across the road from our campground.  Lots of Geocaching opportunities, too, with skill levels varying from
1 to 5.

Sightseeing & Shopping:  We are only 10 minutes from the historic town of Saluda, 20 minutes from Hendersonville, and 15 minutes from Columbus and Tryon.  Asheville, less than an hour away, has loads of shopping and the magnificent Biltmore Estate.  Also within an hour you can be at one of our top local attractions, Chimney Rock Park.  Other great day trips include Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN and Cherokee, NC.  Don't forget to join us in October for our beautiful fall colors.
